Description

The John Barnes method of Myofascial Release has a treatment approach that looks at the mind and body as a whole. The keystone of this practice is to bring balance to the pelvis and release restrictions that cause misalignment, immobility and discomfort. The goal is to help you return to a healthy, mobile and pain free way of living. Myofascial Release involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. It is a safe and very effective hands on technique that allows the therapist to use a multitude of techniques and movement therapy. Each myofascial release treatment session is performed directly on skin without the use of oils or creams. This allows the RMT to detect fascial restrictions and helps determine how much sustained pressure needs to be applied in order to release the restrictions. What is Fascia? Fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three-dimensional web from head to toe without interruption. It covers every cell, muscle, bone, nerve, artery, vein and all of our internal organs. It is one continuous structure. This substance connects every part of our body together.
